willing to embody the sensations of the difficult pandemic experience we are
living in: it's a prayer of hope”
From the urgency of giving herself to the audience by evoking emotions
during these difficult times, where communication and direct contact are
almost lost and body and mind are isolated, the performer is there outdoor for
them trying to spread hope.
The dancer brings out feelings with pure movement.
Repetitions are there to show the waiting time.
Softness to show kindness, love and understanding.
Tension to show the frustration of no change and the instability due to the
unknown.
Loud breath is there in order to be able to hear patience coming out and to
connect with the inner energy.
Singing breaks the silence and the flatness that is getting heavy with the
passing of time.
A wave of feelings here characterizes a prayer of hope.
About CATERINA CAMPO
Caterina Campo, from Italy, starts to dance at the age of 5 in Tuscany during which, by participating in many dance competitions, she wins several awards as soloist such as the absolute prize “VignaleDanza” in 2010.
Around Tuscany, Bologna and Brussels she can focus on physical athletic preparation, ballet, modern and contemporary dance.
In 2020 after 4 years of full dance education she graduates from SEAD (Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance) where for 2 years (2018-2020) she has the opportunity to teach contemporary dance for adults non-professional dancers.
Between 2019 and 2020 she has the opportunity to work and collaborate with different choreographers such as Helder Seabra (Portugal) and Michèle Noiret (Belgium), and within the context of the Salzburg Festival with Robert Wilson (USA) and Michael Sturminger (Germany).
In 2021 she is both choreographer and performer of the piece "I am here for you" supported by Danspunt, in the context of CODE DANCE (Belgium) and her short film "This is for you all. For the world." is an Official Selection of Dare to Dance in Public Film Festival: Round 4 (Los Angeles).
For her contemporary dance is a tool to listen to your innerself, to understand deep needs and emotions, and viceversa, to transform them into dance.
Now she is based in Brussels.
