Thumb rules for CODE DANS+ for groups 

Before you sign up, it’s important to know if CODE DANS + is suiting for you. 

 

Can you tick off all the points? 

  • This open call is intented for dance schools and groups, dance companies, groups of amateur dancers, and organisations that work with amateur dancers. 
  • Your idea transcends your regular functioningThe project is not part of an annual performance. 
  • The performance will take place outside the black box of a theater. (In the case of a short dance film, the footage is shot outside the black box.) 
  • The presentation of your project will take place on January 1st, 2027 at the earliest, and the project must be completed by December 1st, 2027. 
  • The applicant is + 18 years old and lives in Flanders or Brussels.When financial support is received on behalf of an organisation (such as a non-profit organisation), its headquarters must be located in Flanders or Brussels. 

 

Who is not eligible? 

  • Persons or organizations subsidized in the professional arts 
  • Private initiatives with commercial purposes 

 

Which costs are not eligible? 

  • Investment costs, fixed costs (EGW, telephone…), advertising via Meta, foreign travel costs & purchasing from unethical companies 
  • Investment costs may be incurred, but they do not equate to the full amount of the financial support. 

 

Selection

  • Persons and organisations applying for CODE DANS+ support for the first time will have priority over who have already received support in previous edition. 
  • External experts will work with Danspunt to select 10 projects to be supported in 2026–2027.  
  • MaakPlaats by Danspunt and CODE DANS+ cannot be combined in the same year. After completing a MaakPlaats programme, you may apply to CODE DANS+ the following year, but not the other way round.

Practical arrangements

  • If you participate in CODE DANS+, your work may be photographed or filmed and appear on Danspunt’s social media. 
  • You must mention the logo of CODE DANS + and the Flemish Government on every publication (print and online). 
  • You may apply for additional funding for this project from other organizations. However, you must be transparent about this and mention it in your CODE DANS+ application. In the final accounting, there may be no double financing; in other words, each cost can only be claimed from one organization. In any case, clearly explain what you need these additional funds for. 
  • Danspunt provides the support, you are responsible for the practical organization, the management of your budget, the communication about your showing and the audience!
