What does the CODE DANS+ support package include?

1.    Financial support up to a maximum of 3000 euros.

Danspunt supports projects in the amateur arts through CODE DANS+. With financial support of up to €3,000, we want to help you bring your idea to life. The budget is intended to strengthen and concretely develop your project, not to pay yourself as a professional artist.

So use the funds primarily for what you need to bring your creation to life: costs for a costume, transport, payment of a technician, a volunteer allowance … and so on. You determine what you need, submit your request, and we’ll see what financial support we can offer!

 

 

  1. Artistic Coaching

If your CODE DANS+ application receives a positive evaluation, you can also apply for artistic coaching.

During this coaching, you’ll receive guidance from a professional dancer, choreographer, or dance dramaturg. Based on your needs and questions, we’ll work together to select a coach who best fits your artistic process.

 

How can a coach support you?

  • You’ve already developed a lot of dance material but are looking for help to bring it all together into a strong and coherent performance.
  • Your piece is nearly finished, and you want a fresh, professional perspective to spot and point out new details.
  • You’re brimming with ideas but aren’t quite sure how to get started.
  • You want to work with lighting, projections, or other technical elements, but have little experience with them yet.
  • You feel that your piece needs to go in a different direction, but aren’t sure how to approach that in practice.
  • You already have a lot of experience and are curious to see how someone from the professional dance world views your work and challenges you to grow further.

 

Practical information

The coach can visit up to three times to work with you and your group, for a total of up to 10 hours of coaching. The coach is paid by Danspunt. This coaching program is therefore not included in the budget you’re applying for.

This coaching offers a unique opportunity to develop yourself as a creator and to bring someone from the professional field into your network.

 

 

  1. Information & Advice

When organizing your performance, you may run into some challenges. What’s the best way to handle them? What are your options? Danspunt is happy to support you with tips and advice on planning and creating a script, organizing your performance, paying others, using an AKV… Throughout the entire process (and beyond), you’re welcome to ask any questions you may have.

 

 

  1. Residency at Danspunt (Ghent) or RADAR (Mechelen)

You have the chance to secure rehearsal space at Danspunt and/or RADAR (subject to availability)*.

At Danspunt: We’ll start with 5 rehearsal days, which can also be 10 half-days. Do you need more rehearsal space? Then we’ll discuss it with you.

At RADAR: A maximum of 7 projects can be hosted at RADAR for the period May 2027–September 2027, up to 5 days a week.

*Use of the spaces depends on calendar availability.

  • A spot on the CODE DANS website
  • An announcement of your performance on social media
  • Danspunt will create a short video (on Instagram) of your performance
  • Tips and advice for promoting your event
