CODE DANS, an ode to dance, talent and creation!

Can’t wait to break out? To work on a new or existing dance creation? To bring dance to the people? Register for CODE DANS and maybe you will be among the ones who receive financial, production and artistic support! For this edition, we are looking for extraordinary venues. Indoors or outdoors, as long as it’s out of the black box!

Rules of thumb

Before enrolling, it is important to know whether CODE DANS is definitely for you:

  • CODE DANS is intended for makers and choreographers who are creating a dance production with a link to amateur dance (e.g. because they work with amateur dancers) or who are at the beginning of their dance career.
  • Your project will take place in an extraordinary location, indoors or outdoors. Think out of the black box!
  • Your project starts in September 2023 at the earliest and ends before October 2024.
  • You live in Flanders or Brussels.
  • Danspunt will select a maximum of 20 projects to receive support in 2023-2024.
  • Creators and choreographers applying for CODE DANS support for the first time will have priority over creators and choreographers who already received support in the previous edition (22-23).
  • If you participate in CODE DANS, your work may be photographed or filmed and appear on Danspunt social media.
  • Danspunt/CODE DANS provides support; you provide the organisation and the audience!

 

When will I hear from you?

We will look at the project ideas in June.

You will hear from us by 14 July at the latest.

Then we will ask the selected projects to send an estimated budget, and the financial support will be allocated in the last week of August.
