WEB-site is a playful nonverbal performance that combines everyday movements with the acrobatic and the abstract.
On stage, four dancers are connected by means of rubber bands. Together, they explore the various possibilities offered by this construction.
Sometimes the rubber bands seem to make it impossible to make physical contact with each other. They just don't stretch hard enough to reach each other. Other times the rubber bands make it impossible to walk away from each other.
A game of stretching, pulling and sometimes letting go ensues. The dancers become frustrated. Frustrated by the restriction the rubber bands place on their freedom of movement. Frustrated by the continuous tension under which they must perform. However, when they look at the situation with fresh eyes, they see possibilities.
Imagination is central to WEB-site. Throughout the performance, the rubber bands change shape. A giant boxing ring, an elastic guitar, a slingshot, a hammock, a leash.... By letting the imagination run wild, a literal web of meanings is created. A web of possibilities.
Linked to WEB-site is an interactive workshop that connects families in a playful way. Children can work with parents/grandparents/sisters/brothers.... to work with the movements they have seen during the performance.
