p entre que can in many ways be seen as a kind of quest. The centrality of ‘entre’ in the title reveals the level on which this quest unfolds: the domain of the ‘in-between’. This between exists only through the two poles in which it can manifest itself. p entre que thus explores the space that emerges within concepts that seem to oppose one another, drawing the viewer into the subtle dimension of the in-between; a space that can be said to both exist and not exist at the same time. Special attention is given to the verticality between the here, all that seems to transcend this here, and the fabric that connects the two.
A similar search also marked the creation process of this performance. The choice for dance is not absolute: in a sense, one could say that p entre que is merely a first stop along the way. Yet the medium holds the right kind of ephemerality to explore this theme.

About Magali Laroy

Magali Laroy is a multidisciplinary artist with a background in fashion. By addressing certain themes during her studies, she sought the cross-pollination between fashion and dance. This led to a collection titled Que du Blanc, interwoven with a series of movements. The transience and physicality that characterize dance provide a fitting translation of this subtle, airy theme.
She collaborates with a diverse group of dancers (Mira Biermans, Soete Declercq, Astrid Delombaerde & Ine Garré), who have enriched the creation process from their different perspectives. The music was created by Isa Opstaele, a young, talented double bassist who performs live and uses his instrument as a starting point for experimentation. He explores the boundaries of the double bass, searches for new sounds, and combines traditional playing techniques with unexpected, experimental noises.
