In Real Time is a collaboration between the part-time arts education in Northern Limburg, Cultuurcentrum (CC) Palethe (Pelt) and Passerelle vzw. It is a production in which young people consider the power of NOW. Because we live a hybrid life off and online, where the latter is becoming increasingly dominant, we are, with this project, prioritising an intense and live ‘catch up’ with each other. The choreographer Benjamin Müller is going to collaborate with a group of dancers from the part-time arts education in Northern Limburg. By means of acting and physically intense tasks, they will make and give form to codes, rules and, above all, connection, resulting in a structure in which ‘the now’ plays the leading role. In Real Time will be an ode to the playfulness and energy of our young people. Expect an energy bomb.
About Benjamin Müller
Benjamin Müller studied contemporary dance at the kunsthumaniora (arts secondary school) in Brussels. He went on to continue his studies at the ArtEZ University of the Arts a dancer and dance-maker. He later worked on re:renaissance (a short investigation of counterpoint) as a dancer and choreographer, he danced for Rogie CS (in the project RE/TURN) and B-Classic and he also performed in dance productions by, among others, Alleyne Dance in collaboration with Passerelle. As well as doing his dance activities, Benjamin also teaches. He is the coordinator and lecturer in contemporary dance in the dance department of the arts secondary school in Genk where he teaches subjects like dance technical skills and improvisation and composition.
