'Vole' is a poetic short film that reveals the quietness and slow rhythm of a Flemish village. As the camera drifts through streets and homes like a gentle breeze, small human moments come into focus: gestures, glances, words barely spoken. The villagers carry stories of love, loss, loneliness, and connection, unfolding through a blend of intimacy, subtlety, and a touch of absurdity. Vole transforms what seems ordinary into something unmistakably extraordinary.

About Astrid De Haes

Astrid De Haes is a Belgian director and choreographer whose work bridges dance, film, and visual arts. Central to her practice is the moving body as a medium for connection, collaboration, and storytelling.

She studied Visual Arts (BA & MA) at the School of Arts in Ghent, followed by a residency at the School for New Dance Development in Amsterdam. Mentored by Alain Platel during her master’s, she created her first stage works Untitled 1 (An attempt to create meaning in a space that could go completely dark) and later co-created Blueberries leave bruises on the skin (2023–24).

From 2024 onward, her focus expanded to film. She choreographed music videos for Whispering Sons, Oscar and the Wolf, and Noonzy, and directed short films including ALDO and On my way to you.

In 2025 she was named a Vocatio Laureate, and she is currently preparing her new dance performance This in Turn, avant-premiere in March 2026 at C o r s o, Antwerp.
