Neptune & Hélène

This duet (work-in-progress) features two characters attempting to anticipate - by listening to the surrounding elements - what might fall on their heads. Between incantations to the rain and reading of the landscape, they seem to be waiting for something, but what? Constantly walking a fine line, using only one diagonal, the two performers reveal, little by little, their unique mode of communication. They invite the audience to listen and step into their parallel world, defined by playfulness, incongruity and mystery. Together, they embark on a journey, navigating between the seriousness of their mission (figuring out what is about to come: a storm? Rain?), and occasional detours and side quests off the beaten path.

The performance (which is a work-in-progress) will take place in the frame of an exhibition about the wind, at the Galerie de l'Impasse, untitled "Zouuu", led by César Carron, Audrey Fontenoy and Clément Polteau. You will be able to visit the short exhibition before or after the presentation.
The performance will be depending on the weather, since the gallery is too small to welcome the performance indoor in case of bad weather.

About Neptune & Hélène

Neptune is a dancer. She graduated in June 2023 from the Master of Dance and Choreographic Practices of Charleroi danse/Lacambre/INSAS in Bruxelles. Since then, she collaborates with different artists as a dancer or choreographer. She works with SUPERSUEURS, a French dance company that carries a project called "K.O - sport" for public spaces. She also works with the contemporary circus company Habeas Corpus based in Brussels for their last creation "Chwallow". She also carries a project for kids called "En balbutiant": for a few years, she danced in folk balls, and this project invites kids to recreate the dances and the codes that constitute these events. She also explores the practice of the clown, and finished her clown formation in CNAC (Châlons-en-Champagne, France).

Hélène Guilguet is a dancer and choreographer, working between Paris, Brussels, and Toulouse. After studying social sciences and urban planning, she joined the Extensions training program at CDCN-La Place de la Danse in Toulouse, where she discovered the work of various choreographers. As a performer, she collaborates with Nana Movement (Angelica Ardiot) on the quartet "Jamais la fin", and with the company La Canine (Emilie Labédan) on "Fictive", written for natural spaces and "Mr Splitfoot". In parallel, she collaborates with artists such as the musician Hinsberger or the painter and sculptor Clara Tournay for in situ performances.
